Wachovia Foundation Becomes DSRTF’s First Corporate Sponsor
January 15 , 2005

The Wachovia Foundation of Charlotte, NC, has donated $5,000 to DSRTF, becoming its first corporate sponsor. In making the gift, Steve Bentley, Senior Vice President of the Wachovia Foundation, stated that the mission at Wachovia “is to build strong and vibrant communities, improve the quality of life, and make a positive difference where we work and live. Your organization is vital in accomplishing these goals and many others. Wachovia is proud to support your organization’s commitment to the community.”

The gift was presented to DSRTF by Vince Randazzo, Senior Vice President and Director of Government Relations for Wachovia Corporation, and by Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), who has been a strong and effective advocate for Down syndrome cognition research in Congress.

“DSRTF thanks the Wachovia Foundation for its generosity and welcomes it as a corporate partner in our mission to help fund cognition research that will lead to treatments for Down syndrome,” stated Hollye Doane, Executive Director of DSRTF.
