NINDS Schedules Down Syndrome Research Meeting
January 12, 2005
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at NIH will hold a Down Syndrome workshop entitled, "Down Syndrome: Toward Optimal Synaptic Function and Cognition," February 7-9, 2005, in Washington, DC. The workshop will bring together leading scientists across the country to address the most critical challenges in the neurobiology of Down syndrome. Participation is by invitation only.
DSRTF and the National Down Syndrome Society worked together to encourage this NINDS workshop. DSRTF thanks Dr. Story Landis, the Director of NINDS, for holding this important workshop to help direct future Down syndrome research focused on synaptic function and cognition. The workshop is an important step in attracting scientists in different fields to conduct Down syndrome cognition research.
