How You Can Help :: Adopt-A-Mouse
Temporarily Out of Stock
The original idea for Adopt-A-Mouse was developed by a group of students from the Gateway Preparatory School in Houston, Texas. One of the students, Erin, has a brother with Down syndrome and when she was presented with an opportunity to design a community service project for her class, she and her classmates decided to do something to improve her brother's life and the lives of others affected by Down syndrome. They created the Adopt-a-Mouse program to raise money to fund Down syndrome research!
Donations to the Adopt-A-Mouse Campaign (AAM) go directly towards funding DSRTF-sponsored Down syndrome cognition research activities. Individuals donating $21 (analogous with the extra copy of the 21st chromosome in individuals with Down syndrome), plus $2.25 S&H per mouse, to the AAM Campaign will receive a cute stuffed mouse that can be given as a gift or kept for themselves. In addition, donors supporting the DSRTF Adopt-A-Mouse Campaign will have the knowledge and satisfaction that they are participating in one additional important way to make a significant and most welcome contribution to further Down syndrome cognition research.
